Locum Placement are looking for the the following Locum:

Job Title: Pharmacy Technician ACT (Accredited Checking Technician)

Band: Band 5
Team: HMP Prisons Pharmacy
Location:Rochester

Working Days: 4 days a week (Monday to Friday)
Working Hours: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (30 hours per week)
Duration of Booking: 3 months

Job Description: We are seeking a Band 5 Pharmacy Technician ACT to join the Medway Prisons Pharmacy team at HMP Rochester. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Pharmacy Technician to provide essential services within a secure environment. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring safe and effective medicine management, with responsibilities including checking prescriptions, supporting medicines optimisation, and working collaboratively with healthcare professionals within the prison setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform Accredited Checking Technician duties to ensure the safe supply of medications.
  • Support medicines management processes and assist with the preparation and supply of prescribed medicines.
  • Liaise effectively with clinical and non-clinical teams to deliver high-quality pharmacy services.
  • Comply with relevant regulatory and professional standards within a secure environment.

Requirements:

  • GPhC registered Pharmacy Technician with ACT qualification.
  • Previous experience in a prison pharmacy, hospital, or community setting is desirable.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
